It's Sunday, the day after the incident with the petrol bombs and Mick is the one who's left fuming. He can't forgive Leo for his involvement and is particularly annoyed that Leo had known about the bombs but hadn't said anything.
Mick tells him to stay away from Jerome. He also forbids him from going into town in case they meet up. In fact, Mick is so furious about the situation that he gives Leo quite a talking to, telling him that he's easily led and that he has no mind of his own.
Leo's hacked off with Mick's attitude and informs Mick that he's off too. He's going to Vonnie's to stay with Jerome.
"I don't want you to go."
"I've made up me mind."
Over at the Corkhills', Jackie is preparing for work. She too is annoyed. Annoyed with Jim's non-existent efforts to find work whilst she is having to put in as many hours as she can get and still can't afford to pay all the bills.
Jim merely responds with a typical "something'll come up", a comment which, of course, isn't good enough for Jackie. She rants at him about getting off his backside and doing something about it. Jimmy shouts back:
"I had a job. A good job, until *you* screwed it up."
Jim tries to persuade Jackie to let him work in the club with Lindsey but Jackie's dead set against the idea. She's been there before, she tells him and she doesn't want him to drift back into "all that".
"Look, I know you don't believe me, but the last thing I want to do is go back to being a scally."
However, this declaration doesn't convince her, so from a drawer, he pulls out a pile of rejection letters. Jackie looks sheepish.
In amongst his row with Jackie, Jim is also trying to find out from Lindsey what happened with Callum. Lindsey says that Rose has packed him off to Portugal but that the bad news is that she still wants the fifty-seven grand by December. Lindsey is hopeful that with the club reopening in two weeks that she might be able to pay Rose from her share of the profits. Jim is incredulous and points out that there is only a matter of weeks to go. Lindsey knows this but really doesn't have any other ideas.
Well not about raising money, at least. She's resurrected the idea of changing the name of the club, but actually hasn't got any ideas about what else she might call it, either. Jimmy helpfully suggests "Y2K", but Lindsey isn't keen as it sounds like "a mob of Chinese gangsters".
In the bungalow, Margi has gone out to buy another load of wallpaper, leaving Nikki and Emily to clear up the glass from the patio door. They're worried about whether Margi is heading for a breakdown.
"She's not right Nik. I'm scared she'll do herself some harm."
They decide to try to convince her to take the job in Brussels. Sounds like a good idea, but they obviously haven't thought it through properly - where would that leave them? What about the bungalow?
When they do broach the subject, Margi isn't keen at first but then the idea seems to warm to her. She says that she'll talk to her boss the following day, but if she does go to Brussels, then Emily will be going with her. Emily looks suitably shocked.
Vic has dropped by the flat to collect some paperwork and is distraught to find Charlotte there, obviously having stayed the night with Darren. Upset, she looks to Nathan for sympathy.
After Vic's gone, Nathan starts clearing the kitchen cupboards. Darren asks why, only to be told that they've got to be out of the flat by Friday. Apparently it's something Nathan's arranged with the developer, someone who we now know is called Ian Leigh.
Back in Manchester, Vic returns to Mark's house where the first thing she does is make some coffee. They discuss going to the cinema later that evening. Mark is keen to go now, but Vic has other ideas.
"I was going to take this [coffee] upstairs while I have a bath. Thought you might like to come and talk to me."
"Like we used to on a Sunday afternoon?"
Vic nods.
"With the same end result?" Mark asks. They kiss.
Ahhh,
