Ron Dikko asked Anthea if she would mind him tagging along to her hospital appointment next week. She didn't. Anthea did admit, however, that she hadn't said anything to Megan as she didn't want her worrying. Apparently, she was concerned about Megan having had to come to terms with the death of Anthea's husband (the man she'd thought was her father) and also because of the way Ron had reacted.
Ron thought that this was unfair and took it upon himself to tell Megan behind Anthea's back. Of course, Ron told Megan that Anthea had cancer. Not merely pre-cancerous cells but cancer. Pillock!
Anthea then had to explain the true situation to Megan and also saved a strong word or two for Ron!
Jerome 'borrowed a mate's car' and is looking to buy it if his mate decides to sell. Mick's still suspicious of where Jerome is getting all his money from. His curiosity intensifies when he finds that Jerome has been getting Gemma to deliver parcels for him. Surprisingly, Mick still hasn't really tackled Jerome outright.
The clues certainly seem to point towards drug dealing. As they departed in Jerome's car to visit 'a mate', Jerome said to Leo: "He wants us to pick some coke up on the way." Another clue? Or perhaps the 'mate' is just thirsty?
Greg's still digging up Mick's front garden and Mick later volunteered Leo to help. Our resident builder was confused as to why the drain was clogged with cement. Leo was forced to admit that he'd poured surplus cement down the drain a couple of days ago when he'd been helping on Greg's extension. The cement, however, doesn't seem to be the main cause of the blocked drains and before long Greg uncovers the real reason:
Jerome: There's all used johnnies down there an' everything.
Mick: All right, Jerome, we've got eyes y'know, we don't need the graphic description.
Jerome: Well, if they've really only come from here and next door, then someone's been busy.
Mick: I hope you're not looking at me.
Leo: Nor me.
Jerome <sniggering>: They must be Sinbad's. <To Leo> This is all your fault. You're gonna have to get down there and pick everyone of them out.
Leo: Oh aye, yeah. As if.
Greg: They only people who are touching these are the police.
Over at the Mussie's, Don and Rose are preparing to return to Ireland. Rose insisted that the abortion was her decision and that Joey just gave her support. Neither Luke nor Niamh are convinced. Joey pleads to Niamh that he didn't simply insist on giving Luke away to ease his conscience and that at the time it was the best solution for all. Luke overhears his parents discussing how hard it was to get on with life knowing that their son was growing up without them. Eventually he decides to give himself up and makes the call to the police.
"Mum, Dah, I'm really scared", he said as he waited for his lift back to captivity.
Personally, I was waiting for the scene where the bizzies called to collect Luke in full view of Greg, Mick, Jerome and Leo who were standing in Mick's front garden. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. Maybe it will on Tuesday - I can't believe they'd pass up a scene like that!
