Brookside Page updated every weekend Week Commencing February 4th 2001 After Dave breaking her heart and stealing her money, Shelley's sudden departure left Bev feeling lonely and depressed. Lance saw Bev crying, so after the Bar closed he had a heart to heart with her. During an emotional chat Bev confessed she would like to have another baby and was surprised when Lance admitted that he would also like to become a father. Lance's admission gave Bev an idea and she suggested to Lance that perhaps they could have a baby together. Later as Bev's suggestion sank in Lance decided couldn't face Bev the next day and took a day off work. Bev was not put off that easily and called round to see Lance to talk through the idea and was delighted when he later agreed to help. Lance was keen that the baby should be conceived naturally and that both he and Fred would be involved in the child's upbringing. They called their plan " Operation Bambino " then Lance tried unsuccessfully to contact Fred to seek his permission. They decided to go ahead anyway but just as they got started Fred arrived, leaving Lance with a lot of explaining to do. There was a tense atmosphere in the Corkhill house as Jimmy tried to restore peace, not realising what had caused the problem. When Darren and Victoria realised their future together could be jeopardized by Leanne's allegation, Victoria offered to pay for her silence. Later Leanne was forced to publicly confess her allegations against Darren were all lies.   Also on Brookside this week Diane and Marty were shocked when Steve revealed his true feelings about the miscarriage while Emily considered doing some topless modelling for Carl.
