Week Beginning 27th June1999

Nikki in courtThis week Nikki took the stand in court, where she told the jury all she could remember about the night of the party at the Johnsons house. But when it came to talking about the following morning she broke down in floods of tears, frustrated at the fact that she couldn't remember much about what happened the night before. On Wednesday she was cross examined by Luke's defence leaving her feeling rather embarrassed.

Luke in courtThroughout the trial Luke protested his innocence, but was concerned about facing a female judge. When it came to Joey giving evidence, there was talk about how drunk he was at the party, a fact that surprised Niamh who knew nothing about his behaviour. On Friday there was a startling testimony from Ryan who informed the court about Nikki's drunken behaviour at the party and how she was flirting with almost every bloke present, not forgetting the fact that her own brother Jason had even called her a slag the following day. After hearing all the evidence from both sides the jury retired to decide on the verdict.

JimmyMeanwhile William's accident seemed to be bringing his parent's closer together as they sat and waited by his bedside. Although William seemed to be recovering they still had some test results to wait for. As the Corkhills discussed their marriage Jimmy promised Jackie once again that he would put his family first before his work at the school, hoping to get Jackie to return home. However while things were looking better for Jackie and William there was disappointment for Jimmy when his pupils provided poor exam results.

MickAlso this week there was happiness for Ron and Anthea as they looked forward to getting married. While Sinbad realised he must look to the future. On Tuesday the parade was in darkness when they had a powercut, which caused problems for Mick. While Nathan and Jacqui seemed to have romance on their mind as their relationship became more intense.
