The
day of Susannah's funeral arrived but Max was still reluctant to go, but
after much persuasion from Jacqui he agreed. At the funeral Max struggled
with his feelings of guilt, and tried to confess to Mick that he was responsible
for Susannah falling to her death. Mick thinking that Max was just overcome
with emotion didn't take his inane ramblings seriously. At the service,
as the vicar started talking about Susannah's life and how she loved her
children, Max interrupted giving his own speech about her life. In his
speech Max named everyone who he thought made Susannah's last days a misery.
Darren tried to calm Max but he hit out, pushing him against the coffin,
causing it to fall to the ground. Jacqui realised that Max had reached
breaking point and took him home allowing the funeral service to continue.
Although
most of those attending the funeral didn't take too much notice of what
Max was saying, Leanne suspected that perhaps Susannah had been murdered
after all. Robbie wasn't impressed with the amount of attention Jacqui
was giving Max .
In
the days following the loss of their unborn child tension began to mount
in the Murray house leading to a fierce argument between Diane and Marty.
Rachel and Bev helped each other as they struggled to manage their finances.
Shelley renewed her efforts to patch things up with the Corkhills but
after listening to Bev remained convinced that Jackie had feelings for
her. Anthea was determined to establish herself in the Dixon family, while
Ron had some explaining to do over his disastrous wedding video.
