Brookside Page updated every weekend Week Beginning 6th June 1999 Ryan and katie took their relationship a stage further, but Katie accidentally informed Ryan about Harvey's reluctance to give a DNA sample, furious at the news Ryan believed he must have something to hide and decided to take matters into his own hands. In an attempt to clear Luke's name, he tried to beat a confession out of Harvey. Later in the week Harvey got his own back on Ryan by ensuring he had a visit from DS Rose who gave him a firm talking to. Meanwhile Rachel had concerns of her own as she struggled to decide whether or not to tell Mike she's pregnant. Having her little sister Ruth around and seeing Mike playing a father figure, brought back bad memories of Trevor, and soon made her wonder whether Mike would do the same to Ruth. Deep down she knew he was not like Trevor but she couldn't help feeling concerned. On Tuesday Jacqui admited to Rachel that she knew all about her pregnancy, as Katie has already told her, and insisted that Mike had a right to know about his unborn child. Later in the week Katie found Rachel crying and tried to comfort her by telling her that the baby could mean a fresh start in life. Although Rachel knew that the advice she had been given from her friends was right, she still needed to find a way of telling Mike her news. Katrina confronted Jacqui about her concerns for Susannah's children and how it seemed she prefered Emma to Harry. While Margi prepared for her job interview with the Trade Union Congress in London. Greg was pleased to hear about Margi going away, as it meant he could spend some time alone with Susannah. However Margi wanted him to go with her so they could have their own naughty night. Greg declined her offer making up some excuse about work commitments. As Greg and Susannah spent the night together their romance was soon spoilt by Harry's crying. On Friday Susannah was fuming after discovering that Lindsey knew about her relationship with Greg, and later had a meaningful discussion with Jacqui. While Ron saved Harry from Katrina and her temper. Also this week Jackie returned from her holiday away as a new women, but was horrified to discover that Jimmy was the same as he was when she left him, knowing that Jimmy was not going to change she decided to pack her bags and move in with Lindsey next door. Joey and Luke finally made up, and there was romance for Jason when school teacher Jayne Farris started flirting with him once again, only this time he seemed happy to oblige. Sinbad was feeling depressed as it seemed Ruth hardly recognised him, and there was shocking news for Jacqui when Lindsey told her about Susannah's affair with Greg. Lastly Victoria decided to give her marriage with Mark another go leaving Darren totally gutted.
