Week Beginning 23rd
May 1999
Leo and Jerome reluctantly agreed to
helping Greg out with some building work, but soon changed
their attitude when they realised Nikki would be around.
Nikki found their presence useful as they brought some
normality back into her life. Although keen to help out they
were soon causing havoc in the extension, when they built a
brick wall, leaving Greg’s mobile phone buried underneath,
they then poured the remaining cement down the drain.
However as Greg tried to clear the blocked drain he came
across something which he believed could be vital evidence
for Nikki’s court case.
Meanwhile Mick was becoming suspicious about Jerome’s
ways of making money after he turned up in a new car,
bringing him to the conclusion that Leo and Jerome could be
dealing with drugs.
While Luke secretly hid out at the
Musgroves home, Joey and Niamh argued over their decision of
whether or not to inform the police of Luke’s whereabouts'.
As their emotional discussion released deep dark secrets,
they talked about how they gave Luke up at birth by letting
him live with Rose and Don, Joey’s sister and Brother in law
as they couldn’t afford to keep him. This left Luke wondering
about what made his parents give him up in the first place.
On Wednesday Rose and Don arrived on the close
all the way from Ireland having heard the news of Luke’s
escape, however Niamh and Rose were soon at each other's
throats. Rose explained how she had an abortion at 15
leaving her unable to have children of her own. After
hearing these shocking revelations, and having a heart to
heart with Niamh, Luke was soon considering giving himself
up to the police. Although first he had to consider the
feelings he had for both Rose and Niamh.
Meanwhile as Katrina waited for Susannah to arrive
home she decided to give Emma a bottle of milk. Susannah
went mad when she found out and it was soon obvious who she
cared for more and wasn’t Harry.
Lastly this week Ron became concerned about
Anthea’s health, but his caring side made Anthea furious as
he continued to interfere. While Sinbad finally appeared to
be accepting Mandy's new life and happiness much to Rachel’s
relief. Jacqui and Nathan avoided each other refusing to
discuss their previous night together. Although Nathan
couldn’t resist making a jibe at her, but soon regretted it.
Jacqui later admitted to Susannah her involvement with
Nathan.
