Brookside Page updated every weekend Week Commencing 19th December 1999 This week Nikki followed Luke and Katie to Bar Brookie where she planned to get her revenge, by slipping a tranquilizer into his bottle of booze. However she was distracted and failed to notice he hadn't touched the drink all night. Later in the toilets she tried to get Luke to admit he raped her, but he insisted it wasn't him. She felt her plan has failed miserably and headed off for the roof top convinced her life isn't worth living. Up on the roof Luke tried to talk her down, but the only way he could stop her from committing suicide was by admitting to what Nikki wanted him to. Meanwhile the Dixon's had two future weddings to celebrate after Rachel finally agreed to marry Mike, and Jacqui announced her engagement. While Mike couldn't be happier with Rachel's decision, Ron was not best pleased with the thought of Jacqui marrying a snob like Nathan, but when he found out how wealthy Nathan's family was he soon changed his mind.   On Christmas Eve Mick and Sinbad invited Jimmy and Ray over for a rather unusual Christmas Party. Apart from drinking all the booze they brought, they were soon trying their hand at decorating, as they painted a mural on the walls. Also this week Gemma returned home early from Barbados, after she was discovered smoking pot. While Katie was left devastated after talking to Luke about Nikki.
