SinbadMandy phoned Rachel with news that she is getting married to Brian. Rachel was thrilled for her mum, but worried at how Sinbad would react, so decided to break the news to him gently. However before Rachel hads a chance to talk to Sinbad Mike accidentally let the news slip. Sinbad was devastated and later tried to drown his sorrows. Although he realised he must face the truth about Mandy he couldn’t help but worry that his daughter Ruth may soon forget him now that she had a new daddy in her life. As Sinbad sank Mickdeeper into depression, let himself go unshaven, and refused to get out of bed to go to work in the morning, Mick and Tinhead become increasingly concerned about him. Eventually Mick realised his behaviour was not all down to drinking too much the night before. Fearing he may have taken an overdose Mick broke the door down in a desperate attempt to help Sinbad.

Meanwhile Luke was taken to hospital and hand cuffed to the bed. While at the hospital he Luke saw a chance to escape, fearing that if he returned to the prison he may not be so lucky the next time. On Friday the police arrived in the close to inform the Musgroves of Luke’s escape leaving Alec in shock.

As the atmosphere in the Corkhills household continued to get frostier by the minute,Jackie prepared for her holiday away with Jimmy but was furious to discover that Jimmy had broken his promise to her by failing to sort out William’s passport. Lindsey arranged a meal out for Jimmy and Jackie, hoping to smooth things over between the couple, but unfortunately the night didn't go quite as planned. Later Lindsey made the decision to move out of No 10 and into No 9.
