Week Commencing October 14th 2000

Murrays arguingThe Murray family faced further problems this week when they recieved more bad news. First they heard from the insurance assessor that his company would not be paying out on their insurance claim, then later when Marty and Diane visited the hospital they were told the IVF treatment was unsuccessful. Diane was devastated that she was still not pregnant and vowed to continue with the IVF despite the fact they had no more money to pay for it. Tension mounted between Marty and Diane as he tried to make her realise they had no way of raising more money, then on Friday morning Adele and Diane ended up arguing.

Anthony, Imelda and PaigeMeanwhile Anthony was also having a bad time at school as he tried to defend himself against school bullies Paige and Imelda. Luckily Adele saw what was happening and chased the girls off. Later when Marty confronted Adele about her argument with Diane, she retaliated by telling him about Anthony being bullied. Marty was shocked by what Adele had to say as he was unaware Anthony was being bullied, and decided to take positive action.

Christy, Emily and TimRachel was also facing a crisis as she struggled to find ways of repaying the loan, without Mike finding out how bad the situation really was. In desperation Rachel resorted to stealing from Beth's savings account. Tim meanwhile had his own ideas of raising some cash by teaming up with Christy, but after he threw him out of Bev's Bar Tim vowed to get revenge.

Also on Brookside this week Jimmy and Jackie came to terms with the fact their marriage was over, Steve was refused a bank loan and Lance was sacked from Bev's Bar.
