Actress Profile Bernie Nolan ( Diane Nolan )

Bernie started to her career in show business at a very early age when she started singing at just two years old. When she was 13 Bernie joined her sisters to travel the world and soon became a member of the successful female vocal group the Nolan's.

She became the lead vocalist in the all singing sister group. As a group they always had a sweet image but often argued like any family would. If it wasn't for them being sisters they would probably have split up sooner. She enjoyed her time as a member of the Nolan's but was never very fond of one their best-known tracks " I'm in the mood for dancing ". One of Bernie's favourite moments was when the Nolan's toured Europe with Franks Sinatra and she was able to introduce him to her father who idolised Frank.

Bernie as Diane MurrayBernie left the group in 1994 to concentrate on her acting and soon appeared in several stage musicals such as Blood Brothers at the Liverpool Empire. It was while performing for Blood Brothers that she was spotted for a part in Brookside by one of the casting directors. After hearing about the part she auditioned and was successful. Bernie was really pleased, as she had always been a fan of the soap and now plays the part of the Diane Murray.

Bernadette Nolan is happily married to Steve whose occupation is a drummer, she is also very close a to her mum and and is quite religious attending Church every Sunday.

In 1998 Bernie was six months pregnant with their first daughter who they named Katie, however tragedy followed when they discovered something was wrong with Katie meaning she wouldn't survive after she was born. Bernie then had to have a termination which meant having to go through labour, a very traumatic experience.

In 1999 there luck changed when Bernie became pregnant once more and gave birth to their daughter Erin, who is now over a year old. Erin is very special to them and will be told about her sister when she's older.
