Behind the scenes

The beginning of the end of The Millennium Club took months of planning so that it could all end in tragedy. While professional stunt men and effects specialists were brought in to coordinate with the dramatic scenes. Although the special effects meant the cast had to work longer hours filming including weekends, one particular cast member Claire Sweeny had to spend three days under rubble which she found rather uncomfortable. While one scene where she had to carry someone out of the building ended up with her being so surprised when a flash that went off behind her that this resulted with her falling over, Luckily she wasn't badly hurt.

The PoolSpecial effects used for the explosion which go through several parts of the club including the shower blocks and the swimming pool. To achieve these affects the windows were replaced with sugar glass and made to shatter when necessary. Also woofers were designed to blast out air and specially made soft debris was used for the furniture and ceiling. Although one of the stunts only lasted six seconds it took a week to prepare.

Callum and Alistair go to the party not as guests but to cause trouble for Lindsey as a means of revenge due to the fact Lindsey stole his money to set up the club. During Callum's conversation with Lindsey his last words are "Enjoy the party , it should go down a bomb" then ends the remark with a cheeky grin.
