Actress Profile Sue Jenkins Sue Jenkins is 40 years old and was born in Liverpool and comes from a small family with just her sister Pam, Mum and Dad. During her school years her reports stated that she was very keen, quite bright and generally did well academically although she didn't do very well in Geography. Sue has been married for 20 years to David Fleesham who was well known for his role in Emmerdale where he played bad boy Charlie Aindow. Sue has 3 children Richard aged nine, Emily twelve and Rosie six. The couple first met during a tour of Pinocchio where Sue arrived in a pink suit and wearing baby pink lipstick to play the title character. While David played Mr Fox. Sue got her first job at 15 where she worked Saturdays in a shop, and her first television experience was working for the police series Z Cars. Her experience of soaps comes from Coronation Street where she stayed for four years during the eighties to play the part of Gloria Todd a barmaid. Sue was interested in working for Brookie before she even got the role of Jackie, but when asked to work full time she was reluctant for many years due to her responsibilities to her young children and not wanting to be tied down. The producers tried to persuade her to take this option so many times that it got to the stage where Sue would avoid the producer if she saw him in the corridor. Eventually Sue agreed to do full time after Phil Redmond promised to work around her family. During her pregnancy with her daughter Rosie Sue was currently filming the scenes in Brookside where Jackie was having an affair with Ron Dixon. These scenes Ron found rather difficult as he had a struggle to kiss Jackie over her bump. However soon after filming these scenes Jackie became pregnant herself. If she could change something about herself she would like to be less sensitive and try not to rush into things. Sue's saying being ( If I could sit a while and see a mile I might be kinder to myself) . While hidden talents include water skiing probably due to the fact that she used to go ice skating as a child. Sue's favorite TV programes are the British soaps such as Coronation Street which she feels a certain loyalty to. Emmerdale occasionally. Eastenders is one of her favorites and not forgetting Brookside for monitoring purposes. After eleven years playing Jackie Corkhill Sue Jenkins left Brookside in November 2001.
