Jimmy Corkhills Family Continued.........

Jimmy and Susan Jimmy settled into his new job really well and his method of teaching made him popular with the pupils. One of his pupils Susan Clarke gave Jimmy cause for concern, but despite warnings from other members of staff, Jimmy couldn't help but get involved with Susan’s problems.

Jimmy suspected something was wrong when he saw Susan being collected from school by a shady looking character so decided to investigate further. Later when he saw Susan selling CD’s at school, Jimmy believed she was trying to raise money for drugs and decided to question her. When Susan became un-co-operative Jimmy attempted to search her but was shocked when she shouted to another teacher that he was molesting her.

As a result of her accusation Jimmy was suspended from his teaching job and although he tried to keep the news from Jackie, she overheard him discussing his suspension with Lindsey. After the ensuing row Jimmy decided to try to clear his name, so in order to find where Susan is living he followed the man who had collected her from school.

Jimmy convinced that Susan was at this man’s flat waited until the man went out then broke in. Jimmy searched the flat and was horrified to discover Susan unconscious in one of the rooms, suspecting a drug overdose he called for an ambulance. Luckily Susan soon recovered enabling Jimmy to ask her about who had supplied her with drugs. Although reluctant to give Jimmy information Susan told him where her supplier collected the drugs.

Later Jimmy discovered the drug dealer involved was none other than Rufus, the dealer who had killed his son Little Jimmy. Determined to get revenge for his son’s death Jimmy set out to kill Rufus, but when he confronted him in the street, Rufus pulled a gun on him. Jimmy was saved by the arrival of the police who had been alerted to Rufus’s involvement in drugs by Jackie.

Rufus was arrested but had a good lawyer and was soon out on bail looking for Jimmy who he believed had grassed to the police.

Lindsey and Peter WeddingMeanwhile Lindsey having agreed to marry Peter was making preparations for her wedding day but when the big day arrived she had several problems to contend with. Before she arrived at the church Lindsey was unsure whether to go ahead with the wedding but after a very eventful journey to the church which included dealing with drug dealer Rufus, she finally went ahead with the ceremony a few hours later than planned.

A few days after the wedding Jimmy was told he could return to his job as school teacher, Susan had withdrawn her complaint against him after telling his boss that Jimmy had helped with her drug problem.

Lindsey was a changed person after her wedding, and was now much more assertive, but even she was shaken when one day Kylie walked in to the room holding a real gun. Lindsey had left it within Kylie’s reach and there were a few tense moments before the gun was made safe. After a heated argument between Jackie and Lindsey, Jimmy said he would dispose of the gun.

Lindsey wanted a better lifestyle for herself and persuaded Peter to accept money that Jimmy had made during his drug dealing days. They decided to invest more money into their new beauty salon as well as putting in an offer for No 9 Brookside Close.

Jimmy believed that Susan Clarke would be able to beat her drug problem now that Rufus was no longer around, but was devastated when a few weeks later she died of a drugs overdose. Jimmy blamed himself because Susan had called to see him at his house earlier, obviously in trouble, but Jimmy not realising at the time the extent of the problem had sent her away.

Lindsey was also in for a shock when a few weeks after her marriage to Peter with FrankiePeter, she discovered that he was having an affair with Frankie. Enraged at the discovery and feeling betrayed Lindsey threw Peter out and decided to make a fresh start on her own. As part of her decision Lindsey continued with the purchase of number 9 Brookside close determined to make a new home for herself and Kylie and also increased her investment in the beauty salon at the Millennium Club.

After being re-instated in his job after his involvement with Susan Clarke, Jimmy thought he would now be secure in his teaching job, but more trouble was just around the corner.

Jimmy and KarenJimmy volunteered to help produce the school play, which meant him having more contact with Karen, head of department. As Jimmy became involved in the making of the school play he was spending more and more time at the school, Jackie resented this and began to suspect that Jimmy was having an affair with Karen. Jimmy protested his innocence and explained he was just trying to become more involved in school activities.

The production of the school play was going well so Jimmy was pleased when the local press sent a journalist to the school to cover the rehearsals. Unfortunately while the journalist sat watching the play, Emily Shadwick’s athletics instructor, Mr Abbot walked in demanding to speak to her. Jimmy knew that there had been some trouble between Emily and Mr Abbot so tried to prevent him seeing her. During the resulting scuffle, Mr Abbot was pushed to the ground, an event that was captured on film by the journalist.

JimmySeeking revenge for his humiliation Mr Abbot told the headmaster his version of what happened, also the journalist discovered that Jimmy had a past involvement with drugs. The headmaster managed to prevent the newspaper publishing details of Jimmy’s past but suspended him pending a decision by the school board.

Meanwhile Lindsey was having trouble with her new business venture at the Millennium Club. The building work at the club was still being subjected to frequent delays which turned out to be sabotage by business rivals, the Finnigans. Barry Grant threatened to pull out of his investment in the club, if there were more delays, so Lindsey volunteered to tackle the Finnigans.

Lindsey arranged a meeting with Mrs Finnigan, to try and persuade her to stop sabotaging the club, but was surprised when instead Mrs Finnigan asked her to go into partnership with them.

Lindsey considered the offer, then having decided to accept arranged another meeting, but just as she was about to finalise the deal Callum Finnigan walked in. Lindsey was shocked to see Callum was still alive, as she believed he had died after being sealed in a container by Barry Grant.

Lindsey and CallumThe last time Lindsey had seen Callum was when he had tried to rape her, so now he was back on the scene, getting revenge was her main concern. Callum was still running a protection racket, so after seeking help from Jimmy Lindsey planned to steal Callum’s protection money and use it to buy Barry Grants share of the Millennium Club.

Meanwhile Jackie feeling fed up with her way of life decided to apply for a receptionist job at the Millennium Club.
