Mick and Jenny

Mick and JennyMick Johnson’s first meeting with Jenny Swift took place at a Parents evening in May 1995. Mick’s son Leo was having problems at school after the death of his friend Garry Salter in the swimming pool.

Mick arranged to meet with Leo’s teacher Jenny to discuss Leo’s problem and was delighted when Jenny offered to give him special counselling after school hours to help him overcome his fear of swimming.

To show his appreciation Mick bought Jenny a box of chocolates, but later when she suggested they go out together Mick realised she had mis-interpreted his intentions and was very keen on him. Over the next few weeks Jenny wearing Micks JacketJenny became more persistent even though Mick tried his best to discourage her. One night she persuaded Mick to call round to her flat hoping to seduce him. While at the flat Mick went to the bathroom and when he came out he found Jenny standing in the room wearing only his jacket. Mick told her he was not interested and left.

Jenny was not put off by this and started to make nuisance phone calls to the Pizza Parlour where Mick worked. Following this Jenny told Mick,s friends they that were going out together and about to become engaged. Jenny was so convincing she managed to persuade some of them to help her organise a surprise engagement party. Mick returned home one evening to a party he knew nothing about, and was shocked to be congratulated on his engagement to Jenny.

Mick and JennyAfter this Mick decided the only way to rid himself of Jenny was to involve the police, but unfortunately they did not take him seriously when he told them he was being stalked by a woman. In desperation Mick consulted a solicitor who sent Jenny a letter telling her to stay away. Despite this Jenny continued to stalk Mick, making his life a misery, so much so that he was afraid to leave his flat in case she was outside waiting for him.

Sinbad, Mick’s best friend could see that he was becoming very withdrawn so suggested that they should go away on holiday, get away from Jenny so Mick could unwind. While away at Southport, when Mick thought he had left his troubles behind him, Sinbad has to tell him he spotted Jenny while they were at the beach.

When Jenny turned up at their caravan a short while later Mick argued with her, telling her to leave him in peace. Jenny then feigned illness by collapsing, so Mick had to send for an ambulance. Feeling guilty about what had happened Mick went to visit Jenny in Hospital only to find she had discharged herself, leaving him a note suggesting she couldn't face life without him.

Jenny obsessedA few days passed without sight of Jenny, so Mick started to believe she may have harmed herself. With his mate Sinbad at his side, Mick went round to her flat, but when they discovered that Jenny was out persuaded the landlady to let them into the flat. Mick was horrified to discover the walls of the flat covered with pictures of himself, and it was obvious to him that Jenny was obsessed.

Later Mick returned to the flat with the police, but by the time they arrived Jenny had removed all trace of the pictures, so Mick was unable to convince them that Jenny was stalking him.

After his visit Jenny phoned Mick telling him she really was going to kill herself, leaving Mick no choice but to race round to her flat. While Mick went upstairs to the flat, Sinbad waited in the downstairs hall. Soon Sinbad heard a heated argument, both Mick and Jenny appeared on the balcony above, when Jenny fell against the banister it gave way causing her to fall to the ground below.

Once again Jenny ended up in hospital, but when Mick visited her she told him she didn't blame him for what had happened. On her discharge from hospital Mick asked her to see a counsellor, which she agreed to do providing Mick went along to keep her company. All went well for a while until one day she didn't arrive for an appointment.

It turned out that Jenny was being evicted from her flat, Mick took pity on her and invited her to stay with him until she could find somewhere else to live.Once at his flat it soon became clear to Mick that Jenny was in no hurry to leave.

Meanwhile Mick had started going out with Janice a friend of Bev’s, but when Jenny saw them together she decided to take drastic action. On a visit to her father she saw an opportunity and took his shooting pistol. On her return to Mick’s flat she conceals the gun until she can find the right moment to use it.

Jenny pulls a gunWhen Mick arrived back from a night out Jenny pulled the gun on him and prevented him from leaving the flat. After a couple of days Mick’s friends realised something was amiss when he failed to put in an appearance. The local police in the form of PC Coban called round to the flat to investigate, but he too was held hostage.

The armed police were called, broke into the flat and overpowered Jenny who was arrested.

Mick was relieved when in court she was convicted and sentenced to three years in prison, allowing him to get on with his life.
