CHAPTER: 1
MOVING ON
It had been two months since Lindsey Corkhill's fatal
evening of passion with her arch-enemy Callum Finnegan. It
had been hard to move on, it had been hard trying to forget.
It certainly wasn't something that was easy to forget.
Giving into a passionate urge, giving in to one of those
'spur-of-the-moment' things. Problem was Lindsey didn't
believe that it was a spur-of-the-moment decision, Lindsey
thought it was something that had been waiting to happen. It
was like in the movies people always ended up in bed with
people that they started off hating.
Nobody had actually found out that she had slept with
Callum, although Jimmy suspected it, Jackie tried to ignore
the idea and Jimmy's accusations, Shelley though was totally
oblivious to the part that Callum was playing in the
never-ending downwards spiral of her and Lindsey's
relationship.
As far as Lindsey was concerned their relationship was
non-existent, she couldn't bear having Shelley touch her,
and she tried everything to get out of spending time with
her, and when they did spend time together they literally
always ended up arguing.
Lindsey's life was falling down around her, the only good
thing she had left was Kylie, the one person who didn't have
a go at her, the one person who still smiled at her. But
unbeknownst to Lindsey her relationship problems with her
parents and her lover were about to become the least of her
worries. Things were about to become a lot worse for her, a
lot worse than she could ever have imagined. And the way
things were at the moment, she was going to be left with no
one to turn to.
Lindsey was beginning to get worried, very worried. It had
been two month since she had slept with Callum and she had
missed her period twice. Lindsey though refused to accept
it, she blamed it on the stress and worry that she was under
at this time. She couldnt accept even the slight
thought of carrying Callums child, because thats
what it would be, he was the only man she had even touched
in the last nine months, it could be no one elses.
CHAPTER:
2 AN UNEXPECTED APPEARANCE
Barry Grant drew a deep breath as he got off the
plane, the english air always seemed different, it was more
cool, more refreshing. He had been waiting for an excuse to
return, now he had it. Though he wasn't too pleased about
his reason for returning, it had brought him back home, that
was one good point. Whether people would make him welcome or
not was another.
Last time he had saw Lindsey Corkhill, they hadn't parted
under very good terms, she had discovered his marriage and
it had literally torn her apart. Though she still had the
strength in her to end her relationship with him, he
wondered what exactly she was up to now, he wondered if she
had became involved with anyone else, and if so, who?
Barry strolled into a bar where he knew he had trustworthy
informants waiting to answer his questions.
Barry, my boy whereve you been? Will
welcomed Barry with open arms, after a quick, friendly hug
Will told Barry to sit down while he got the drinks in.
So what is it brings you back? Will asked after
returning with a bottle of whiskey and two glasses.
Business Barry replied pouring himself a
drink.
And what business would that be? Will asked
downing his first glass.
Stolen money Barry replied. Will soon started to
remember how hard it was to get detailed answers from
Barry.
Whos money?
Mine
And who stole it? or do you not know yet? Will
asked pryingly, already becoming agitated with Barry's
awkward answers.
Oh I know who it was, and by god I'll sort her when I
get my hands on her Barry growled at the thought of
how much he had needed that money and had not being able to
get it.
Its a woman! Will exclaimed. Will had
expected it to be someone like Finnegan, someone with a real
grudge.
Yep, it was a woman Barry downed yet another
glass of the cheap whiskey.
Anyone in particular? Will asked with an
irritated look on his face, which he wasn't trying to hide
from his supposive friend.
Yeah, an ex, Lindsey Corkhill Barry growled her
name, she knew how important that stashed money was to him,
and she had still took it.
Lindsey Corkhill, I thought she was crazy 'bout you, I
thought she'd do anything for you, I never thought she'd do
you over Will had remembered Lindsey, he also
remembered her frequent run-ins with Callum Finnegan because
of Barry.
Yeah, I thought she was too, just goes to show don't
it, you can't trust anyone. Look I'd better be off
Barry rose as he noticed that he was being watched
Once I'm sorted I'll be back and then I'll tell you how you
can help me out. Right and with that Barry walked away
from Will. Will sighed, Barry must be in some trouble if he
was going after Lindsey in such a way, he had once been
serious about her, now he was threatening to kill her.
CHAPTER: 3 THE PHONE
CALL
Sam James had watched the scene between Will and Barry
with intense worry. He knew Lindsey Corkhill and he knew how
Callum felt about her. Whether or not to tell Callum was the
hard decision. He knew that Callum would dash over the
second he found out, dive straight in at the deep end and
wind up in all sorts of trouble. Then again if he didn't
tell Callum and Callum heard from someone else that Lindsey,
the woman he loved, had been done over by Barry Grant, he
would react even worse and go into an all-out personal war
with Barry Grant. So he decided it would be better if he
called Callum and advised him about how to react.
Hello? Callum's scottish accent sounded distant
and odd, then again he was in Portugal while Sam was in
Liverpool.
Hello, Callum its Sam Sam was nervous, he had no
idea how Callum would react to the news of Lindsey's life
been in danger from the man Callum hated probably more than
anyone else.
Sam, hi whats wrong? you sound worried, is
something up?
Eh, sort of. Callum are you sitting down? Sam
frowned he was suddenly wondering why he had asked such a
stupid question.
Yeah, why? you're not going to tell me you're pregnant
or something are you?
No, eh, I don't know if its better for you to be
standing up or sitting down actually Sam thought about
it Callum could either jump to his feet, or collapse into
the chair Ah hell I'm just going to come out with it
okay, so prep yourself Sam warned.
Okay, what is it? Callum's voice turned serious
now.
You know Barry Grant, well....... Sam was
immediately cut short.
Whats he done? Just give me one good reason I'll
come over there and I'll....
Callum calm down okay, chill the thought
immediately came to Callum,'Chills and Fever', that song,
that dance. Callum? You still there?
Eh yeah I'm here, so whats he done?
Its more what hes planning to do you should be
worried about. Now Callum I don't want you acting
impulsively, I want you to think hard about what you're
going to do, don't go jumping on the first flight over here,
remember I'm here, I can keep my eye on her..... Sam
instantly realized what he'd said.
Her? Callum's voice turned icy and it cut
straight to Sam's core, it froze him.
Callum its Lindsey, Barrys looking for her, says she
stole some money from him and hes....hes angry
okay, now look Callum think about this before you dive in
okay Sam's voice was sympathetic, he knew Callum
wouldn't listen to him, he knew what it was like to be in
love with someone and not be able to protect them, it was a
nauseating feeling, and he could tell by Callum's voice that
he was feeling that nausea.
I'm sorry Sam, but I'm on the next flight
Its okay, I understand Sam's voice was full as
he related to how Callum must be feeling.
I know you do it was Callum's turn to sound
sympathetic. He knew what Sam meant. It was little more than
a year ago that his fiancé had been murdered by an
enemy gang out for revenge. It had been Callum who had
discovered her body and he had cried for Sam when he found
her. Then even worse, Callum had to break the news to him.
Sam had stayed at Callum's for over seven months trying to
get over her death. Callum had been wonderful to him and Sam
now strongly felt like he owed him. Sam was determined that
Callum was not going to go through what he went through.

week.......
